During an exercise in the sixties at Luxeuil, two EC 2/4 'La Fayette' Squadron dispersed Republic F-84F Thunderstreaks, the type being the 4th Fighter Wing inventory between 1957 and 1966, first at Bremgarten in Germany until 1961, then Luxeuil. They flew 100,000 hours with the Wing until replaced by Mirage III Es. Note the protection grids mounted on air-intakes and typical position of big 1700 liters wing-tanks.
