I don't know if this is due to the very rare occasions to meet the type in France but I always considered the Crusader as a fantastic plane to see at ground or airborne and be sure they were quite show makers when operating from Clemenceau and Foch having relatively small sizes compared to US carriers. USN pilots detached to French Aéronavale Crusader or Etendard units and having operated at see all considered that it was necessary to be among the best of the best to be able to land in any circumstances on a stamp sized deck with high performance aircraft.
