Here, the Italian SIAI Marchetti S.208 found its origins from the S.205 type which had been designed in 1963-64 to receive engines from 180 to 300 hp. The 208 appeared during May 1967, ordered by the AMI ( Italian Military Aviation ) but also by European customers. It seems that a fixed undercarriage version, the S.208AG existed later for aerial work.
