A well appreciated machine in the Air Shows and other Exhibits was the SIAI Marchetti SF.260 in its civil version. This beautifuly aircraft, known as the Aviamilano F.250 under its prototype form designed by the famous Dottore Ingeniere Stelio Frati, flew for the first time on July 15, 1964 with a 250 hp Lycoming engine. Fully aerobatic and under SF.260 designation, the type originally produced under licence by SIAI Marchetti before they acquired all rights from Aviamilano knew a true commercial success throughout the world, even the Americans " eating " it as SF.260A they produced as the Waco Meteor. Several civil versions existed, based on Lycoming engines and mid 1980 appeared the TP prototype powered by a 350 shp Allison 250 turboprop.
