Last vision of Istres, an almost Twin made of an old Noratlas with a new Transall...
We had to come back to Paris with this Noratlas and just about to enter the runway, the check-list revealed an electric-generator failure and forced to a night on the base with the terrific continuous song coming from a bench having an engine of C-135 tanker under duration test at cruising power... You had just to play cards with chaps to avoid exhausting and nervous barrels when searching to sleep between white slices of cloudy-sheets of a military bed !!!
