The four Pratt & Whitney J-57s were water injected for take-off to give each 13,750 lb st and so raise the 120,000 lb of transfer fuel in a grand total take-off weight of 297,000 lb. Surely the later CFM-56s gave more comfortable power to C and KC-135s and a more interesting range.
