This " défilé aérien
" was organized for July 30, 1981 when the 56S Staff
deliverd the 6,000th badge to a just formed flying
specialist. This was almost the end of Dakotas in Aéronavale,
modification of a lot of Nord 262s in flying class-rooms
being then under work. One easily understand the deep
regrets expressed then by instructors very proud of their
old mounts and sure to never see and hear again people
applauding their Dakotas when parking at Oslo or
Copenhagen civil airports for a stop during their very
long navigation flights until the Great North...Probably
the C-47 was the most popular transport aircraft ever
built and remained in the heart of many European people
often delivered from Germans by their armadas droping
paratroopers during 1944 and 45. |
