Directly seen from tarmac level, the Neptune revealed to be a very beautiful aircraft despite its ventral radar antenna housing. Deprived of this latter, some machines served as fire-bombers in USA or on the America Continent. Note that aft cowling flaps for the engines' cooling were not symetric but opened according the same scheme on each engine. Also interesting is width and outlines of the armament bay doors behind the radar which surely requested a lot of aerodynamic studies. And I add this is the most amusing nose of Goldorak's personages I have ever seen |
