When based at Boufarik, during 1962 I often saw this machine taxying in front of me and taking the runway to take-off after a quite short course in a huge noise; aft the french roundel, with same height size, I could read its code 20-LN in big black letters. For their first flight, US, French, Cambodian and possibly Chadian novice pilots entered a barrel when wheels left ground...so great was the propeller couple when frankly puting full power, tail also being airborne before all the revs came...with brakes on!!! |
